Bogalusa Woman Arrested for Identity Theft

The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Bogalusa resident Jami Tarver (41) on January 24, 2018 on the charges of Identity Theft, Injuring Public Records and Failure to Honor a Written Promise.
The offenses were discovered when a local citizen went to a medical facility to see a physician and learned that another person using her name and identification had been to the same facility earlier in the day. The person was identified as Jami Tarver.
The same day, Tarver also went to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office and filed a police report using the stolen name and identification, reporting that she had been the victim of a crime that had occurred in Washington Parish.
Tarver is the subject of other ongoing investigations in Bogalusa and St. Tammany Parish.
Sheriff Randy Seal commented. “Identity theft is a growing problem in the United States. I caution all of our residents to carefully guard all forms of personal identification and to release personal information only to known and reliable sources. I appreciate the quick work of our detectives to identify and arrest Tarver.”
