Virgie Hughes
December 12, 1953 - November 10, 2017



Virgie Hughes, born in Bogalusa and a resident of Tylertown, Ms., passed away at Ochsner Medical Center in Jefferson, Louisiana on Friday, November 10, 2017 at the age of 63. She was the daughter of the late Clyde Cotton and Pauline Freeman Cotton who survives. In addition to her father, Mrs. Hughes was also preceded in death by one son, Brannon Hughes.
She was a housewife and a member of Sauls Street Baptist Church. She loved being outdoors especially traveling and going camping. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Hughes is survived by her husband, James Hughes; two sons Donnie Hughes and Brent Hughes; one brother Lionel Cotton; two sisters Loretta Dillon and Paula Spears; four grandchildren Brannon Hughes Jr., Kristin Hughes, Grant Hughes, and Connor Hughes; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Mrs. Virgie Hughes, 63, will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, November 13, 2017 with Elder Glen Ervin officiating. Burial will be in the Hughes Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lionel Cotton, Lester Spears, Chester Dillon, Donnie Hughes, Truly Dillon, and Carlos Dillon.
No visitation is planned.
