Obituary

J. L. Magee
July 9, 1956 - November 24, 2017



J. L. MAGEE, AGE 61 and a resident of Angie, went to his Heavenly Home on Friday November 24, 2107 at 10:25 pm after a long hard fought battle with cancer. He was a lineman with Washington/St. Tammany Electric Co-op for many years. J L was a member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he taught the young adult’s Sunday school class. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved hunting, fishing and gardening. J L was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother that will be dearly missed by his large family, numerous friends and all those that knew him.
Survived by: Wife of 15 years: Sandra Sumrall Magee of Angie; 2 Daughters and Sons in law: Becky and Dewayne Herring of Franklinton, Stacey and Jim Hernandez of Zachary; 3 Sons and Daughters in law: Mike and Amber Magee, Lonnie and Jenny Jones all of Franklinton, Tyler Mizell of Poplarville; 14 Grandchildren: Brooklyn, Kensley, Kirbee, Porter Magee, Izayah, Iyana, Imani Pinto, Austin Pitre, Daylan Thomas, Braxtyn Herring, Maddox Jones, Madison, Jay, Jacey Hernandez; 5 Sisters and Brothers in law: Brenda Warren, Sarah and Donald Barber, Tammy and Wayne Nobles, Shannon Reid all of Franklinton, Sandra and Stefan Givens of Stoney Point; Brother and Sister in law: Rickey and Peggy Magee of Franklinton; Also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents John E. “Big Boy” Magee and Doris Jones Magee, 2 brothers John Magee, Randy Magee and brother in law Edward Warren.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday November 26th from 6 pm until 9 pm and after 9 am on Monday. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday in the funeral home chapel with Eld. Duane Ball and Eld. Don Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in the H.H. Williams Cemetery with Eld. Edward Penton officiating the graveside service.

Honorary Pallbearers are his co-workers and friends at WST.
