Teen Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges Before First Day of School

After investigating complaints of suspected drug use and sales by a teenager, the St. Tammany Parish Narcotics Task Force searched the residence of and arrested Mitch Maggio (18) of Mandeville. Detectives orchestrated the timeliness of the search of the residence to coincide with the first day of school the following day.
During the search, detectives discovered 128 grams of high grade marijuana, suspected THC Wax or "dabs," a 9mm handgun, morphine pills, Xanax pills, tramadol pills, clonazepam pills, a small amount of suspected "Molly" also known as MDMA, several grams of suspected cocaine, a digital scale, and other drug paraphernalia.
Detectives believe that the confiscated drugs were intended to be distributed/sold to other students as the school year began.
The STPSO Narcotics Task Force is comprised of detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, Mandeville Police Department, Slidell PD and Covington PD.
