Two FPD Officers Awarded Community Hero Award

Two Franklinton Police Officers were recognized June 29, 2017 by the Humane Society of Louisiana for their efforts in recovering seven puppies that were deserted June 19, 2017 in Franklinton. The puppies were taken by the Humane Society of Louisiana, evaluated by a veterinarian and placed for adoption. The person responsible was identified and charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty. 
Lt. James Holmes and Sgt. Brandon Manning were presented the Community Hero Award by Jeff Dorson, Executive Director of the Humane Society of Louisiana. Kay Grantham and Beth Eaton, with the Magnolia Chapter of the Humane Society of Louisiana, were also present for the event.
Franklinton Police Chief Olander Smith thanked the Humane Society for their work in saving and protecting animals all across the State and expressed his pride in Lt. Holmes and Sgt. Manning.
