Evie Singley
September 12, 1921 - March 17, 2017

Goldie Evie Singley, 95, died Friday March 17, 2017. Evie was born September 12, 1921 in Picayune, Mississippi to the late parents of Roscoe and Elizabeth Kennedy and was a lifelong resident of Angie, LA. She was an active member of Monroe Creek Baptist Church and the Eastern Star of Pine. She touched many lives by visiting elderly people in the community and greeting with them with her warm smile and Christian love.
Evie is preceded in death by her husband, Willie D. Singley of 64 years as well as one son, Willie Fay Singley.
Evie is survived by devoted daughter and son-in-law, Mary Margaret and Richard P. Williams, Sr. of Angie, a son and daughter-in-law, John E. and Joyce Singley of Bogalusa and a daughter-in-law, Faye Singley. She had five
grandsons: Dewayne Williams and wife Charlene of Angie, Michael Williams and wife Marcy of Cary, NC, Richard P. Williams, Jr. and wife Sarah of Angie, Brandon Singley and fiancĂ© Gwen of Madisonville, Kevin Singley and wife Kasey of Bogalusa and one granddaughter Summer Singley of Bogalusa. Evie had five great granddaughters: Christina McMillan and husband Scott of Angie, Kellie Case and husband Tony of Bogalusa, Vivian Williams of Angie, Rosemary Williams of Cary, NC, and Katelyn Singley of Bogalusa and three great grandsons, Jacob Williams of Angie, Nicholas Williams of Cary, NC, and Wade Singley of Madisonville. Evie was also blessed with three great great grandsons: Andy and Ian McMillan of Angie and Will Case of Bogalusa. Additionally, she is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Evie was survived in death by three brothers, William D. Kennedy and wife Earline, Huey Kennedy and wife Kathy, Edward Earl Kennedy and wife Sharon and two sisters, Deloris Phillips and Dorothy "Dot" Woodard and sister-in-law Clara Kennedy and brother-in-law Clyde Woodward, Sr. She was preceded in death by brothers, Samuel T. Kennedy and wife Beverly, Elder Robert Joe Kennedy and sisters Doris Weaver and Louise Hobgood and husband Claude and brother-in-laws Carl Phillips and Lavern Woodard.
A special thanks goes to St. Joseph's Hospice of Covington, LA for the wonderful care and love shown to our Mom who passed away peacefully and courageously in the final stages of Alzheimer's. Words could never express how grateful we are for the love and support shown by Shannon Penton who spent several years helping the family
provide loving care to our Mom.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 21 from 11am to 1pm in the Chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa. The funeral will begin at 1pm and Brother Kelly Penton and Elder Glen Stuart will be officiating the services. Burial will be in the Seals Cemetery at Stateline, LA.
Pallbearers will be Dewayne Williams, Michael Williams, Richard Williams Jr., Scott McMillan, Jacob Williams and Brandon Singley.
