Covington Teen Arrested for Exposing Himself to a Young Girl

A Covington-area teenager (age 16) was arrested March 21, 2017 after exposing his genitals to a 12-year-old girl as she walked home from a bus stop in the River Oaks subdivision. The victim went home and her parents contacted the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office. The responding deputy located the teenage boy, still inside of his vehicle, in the River Oaks subdivision. As the deputy attempted to detain the boy, he resisted arrest and began threatening the deputy. He was taken into custody and charged with resisting an officer and two counts of obscenity and booked into  the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center
Detectives have since received numerous reports of a teen, matching the same description and driving the same car (a white Honda Accord), approaching other young girls in the Arbor Walk, River Oaks and Riverwood subdivisions earlier this month. In all cases, the teen attempted to get the girls to approach his vehicle by asking for directions. He was described as a black male, wearing glasses, and was wearing what appeared to be a school uniform in some of the instances. All of the incidents occurred while buses were dropping off children in the afternoon hours.
