Early Saturday morning (March 18), St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's deputies responded a shooting on Ridgewood Loop in Mandeville and found that Vincent Cuccia (19) had been shot several times. Cucchia was rushed to a nearby hospital but he died as a result of his injuries. St. Tammany Parish detectives arrested Jake Mills (19) on the charge of second degree murder. The investigation led investigators to believe an argument took place over a female. The argument escalated, which resulted in Cuccia being shot by Mills.
Sheriff Randy Smith says, "This was a senseless killing which resulted in the ruined lives of two young teenagers - one dead and the other who could potentially be sentenced to prison for the rest of his life. Sad."
