St. Tammany Deputies Rescue Two Dogs From Cold

Release from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office
Our furry friends are like family here in St. Tammany Parish. Deputy First Class Brian Lizana and Chance Wood rescued two small puppies who were left out in the sub-freezing temps with very little shelter. The owner was hospitalized recently due to a medical emergency, and some concerned neighbors called to let us know the dogs were out in the 24-degree weather overnight. When deputies arrived, the pups were extremely cold, but very friendly. The deputies let the pups hang out in the warm back seat of their police unit and fed them some peanut butter crackers and dog snacks. The pups seemed very grateful to be be rescued from the cold.
The dogs were brought to a safe and warm place until the owner is able to return back home.
