Some in Bogalusa have, over the last several months, expressed their dissatisfaction with the performance of Bogalusa's leaders. Recall Petitions have even been filed with the Louisiana Secretary of State's office targeting Mayor Wendy Perrette and Councilmen Doug Ritchie and Teddy Drummond.
Today, Mayor Perrette issued a positive statement declaring her commitment to bringing the City back.
“While I fully understand the frustration of a community that believes themselves to be under-represented, I can only do that which was I was elected to do and that is represent each and every citizen of the City Of Bogalusa to the best of my ability and I will continue to do so.
We are a community that is both diverse and vibrant. My administration will continue to work to achieve the goals we set two years ago when we began this journey: to bring the City back from the brink of financial ruin, repair and update the infrastructure, and work to improve the quality of life in the City of Bogalusa.
While I admit we have far to go, we have achieved much in this very short period of time. We will stay focused on bettering the City.”
