Interstate Burglary Spree Duo Apprehended

In November 2016, the Slidell Police Department received reports of burglaries at a Wal-Mart located in Slidell and Detective Thomas McNulty noticed a similar "modus operandi” of the burglaries.  He subsequently was able to identify the two suspects involved in the burglary, the vehicle they used, and where the stolen items were being sold for cash.
Working with Detective David Carrick of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, they found that that Spencer Klimek and Amber Klimek have committed numerous and similar crimes throughout Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi, mainly targeting Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores.
The Klimeks were arrested for two counts of Simple Burglary on December 14, 2016, and they later admitted that they committed the burglaries to feed their heroin and crack cocaine habits.
Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal said in part, “It still amazes me how well our law enforcement agencies work together on the north shore to bring down these criminal crews who think they can get away with committing crimes and victimizing our community”.
