Angie Man Charged With Attempted 2nd Degree Murder

On December 23, Detectives from the Criminal Investigative Division of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Isaiah Alexander (18) of  Angie for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder.
The Sheriff Office received a call around midnight from a passing motorist of a man off the roadway on Fornea Road who was bleeding badly. WPSO Deputies and EMS responded and discovered a man lying on the side of the road who appeared to have been shot 4 times, 2 bullet wounds to his face, one to the shoulder and one to his leg. He was able to tell Deputies and Detectives who shot him.
Detectives determined that the victim was returning from a church service and was in contact with the shooter, Isaiah Alexander. The victim had agreed to pick Alexander up and give him a ride to his house in Varnado.  After the victim picked up Alexander, they stopped at several ATM machines and ended up at a secluded area near an abandoned gravel pit where the shooting took place.  The victim was able to walk or crawl back to the roadway until he was discovered.
A search for Alexander was initiated and, after reaching out to his family, Isaiah Alexander turned himself in to the Sheriff’s Office. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation. However, Alexander confessed to the shooting and leaving the area not knowing whether the victim was dead or alive.
