Willie Delores Foster Harry
April 3, 1950 - December 1, 2025
Willie Delores Foster Harry, known lovingly as “Pudden,’’ departed this earthly life at Summer House Park Provence Retirement Home in Slidell, her home for nearly two years. She was 75.
Pudden, a retired educator, was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and community servant who loved helping others. She was born April 3, 1950, as the fourth of five children of William Daniel Foster Sr. and Willie Doris Foster. As a child, she attended First Church of God in Christ, where she was baptized. She attended Central Memorial High School and was a popular member of the drill team. Pudden made lifelong friends at Central, especially the members of her beloved graduating Class of 1968.
Pudden graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge in January 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She then pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher and later earned a master’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1979. Pudden spent thirty-six years as a teacher at Wesley Ray Elementary School in Angie, where she poured love and knowledge into the lives of children as a first and third grade teacher. She also helped to train student teachers. Her dedication and excellence once earned her the title of “Teacher of the Year.”
On August 24, 1976, Pudden married the love of her life, Milton Harry Sr., and they were blessed with two children, Dorable and Milton Jr. The family attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, where she was an active member.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorable Dangerfield; son-in-law, Kerry; grandchildren, Hailey and Kerry Jr.; brother, William Daniel Foster Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and son, both parents, and her siblings Lena Mae Magee, Roosevelt Hawthorne and Julie Foster.
