Daniel Everett Thomas

February 11, 1939 - August 29, 2025

Daniel Everett Thomas, age 86 and a resident of the Pine Community, passed away Friday morning August 29, 2025 at his son’s home in Tylertown. He was retired after a long career as a truck driver for local companies. Daniel drove for Hunt Brothers Trucking for many years and also served as the dispatcher for a time. He later drove for S&S Farms, delivering shavings to farms throughout the area. Daniel was a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church. He loved playing the drums. Daniel and his wife would often get together with friends and other musicians to play gospel music. He loved spending time at “the place” on their property, a small village of old buildings that he enjoyed taking care of and maintaining.

Survived by: 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Michael and Sara Thomas of Missouri, Allen R. and Donna Thomas of Tylertown; 3 Grandsons: Terry Allen Thomas, James Thomas, Jesse Thomas; 7 Great-grandchildren; Brother and Sister in law: Jimmy and Marian Thomas of Covington; Sister: Ola Mae Magee of Franklinton; Sister in law: Patricia Thomas of Franklinton; Also numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by wives Johnnie Lou Breland Thomas and Lena Pauline Cotton Thomas, parents Jimi Thomas and Ruth Lee Hunt Thomas, brother Glen Thomas, sister Barbara Jane Castleberry and other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Monday September 1st from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Monday with Eld Lerand Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Crain’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
