Sybil Ann Shaw Gilmore

April 6, 1943 - July 25, 2025

Sybil Ann Shaw Gilmore, age 82 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Friday night July 25, 2025 at her home. She was a native of Alabama born on April 6, 1943. She was also a former resident of Florida and a few years in Chalmette before the family moved to Washington Parish in 1970. Sybil was a retail manager at different businesses, such as Dollar General and Allied Clothing Store, in Franklinton for over 20 years before retiring. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and had made numerous lovely wedding gowns for brides through the years. Sybil loved fishing, tending to her flowers and being in the outdoors. She was always a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother that cherished the time spent with her family and grandchildren.

Survived by: 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Dewayne and Erica Gilmore, Arnold and Stephanie Gilmore all of Fraklinton; Grandchildren and Spouses: Heather and Josh Martin, Jordan Gilmore, Landon Gilmore, Meaghan Gilmore, Mallory Gilmore, Christian Gilmore, Benjamin and Kourtney Gilmore, Camden Gilmore, Chandler Gilmore, Justin and Adrian Gilmore, Jackson and Raven Gilmore, Analyn Gilmore; Great-grandchildren: Hailey, Nathan, Jacob, Madison, Kaitlyn, Brylee, Preslee, Kloe, Madalyn, Everleigh, Lakelyn, Gideon, Keegan, Blake, Braiden, Jax, Waylon; Sister: Sally Smith of Fayette, AL; Brothers in law and a Sister in law: Donnie and Delores Gilmore, Wayne Greer

She was preceded in death by her sons David Lee Gilmore, Michael Gerald Gilmore, husband of 49 years Howard Gilmore, parents J.B. Shaw and Leona Pearl Pate Shaw, sister Christine Kelly, brothers Maynard Shaw, Bedford Shaw, Wayne Shaw, brother in law Fred Smith, father in law and mother in law Gerald and Mary Lee Gilmore, sister in law Diane Greer and other family members

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Monday July 28th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Tuesday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Tuesday with Bro. John Barber officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilmore Family Cemetery.
