Lavon Ingram
October 15, 1917 - June 2, 2017


Lavon Thomas Ingram, age 65, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 at his residence in Bogalusa, LA. He was employed for 19 years with Crown Zellerbach-Timber Division and 14 years with Delta Printing in Bogalusa. He was an avid genealogy researcher who loved his family and enjoyed telling stories of his childhood. He also enjoyed watching baseball especially his favorite team, the Houston Astros.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ida Nell Ingram, two daughters, Ivy Ingram of Franklinton, La and Casey Varnado (Chris) of Bogalusa, LA. Six grandchildren, Cody Cook (Jade), Joshua Cook (Hannah), Kassidi Varnado, Yancey Nicholson (Halley), Kaiti Varnado, Caleb Varnado, Blake Kennedy, Kaleb Kennedy and Hank Varnado, all of Bogalusa. Also, four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Madolin, Charlie and Kierstyn. He is also survived by numerous family members who were very special to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Esley Ingram and Onetha Miley Ingram, three brothers, Milton Ingram, William Ingram and Bobby Ingram. Paternal grandparents Benjamin and Rose Ingram, Maternal grandparents, Morgan and Florence Miley.
Services will be held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa with visitation on Sunday, June 4 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Visitation will continue Monday, June 5 from 9:00 A.M. until the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Chad Jenkins and Rev. Gregory Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Miley Cemetery on Seven Mile Rd. in Pine, LA
