Eric James Cousin

August 02, 1950 - February 07, 2021

Eric J. Cousin, age 70 and of Angie, LA, passed away on Sunday, February 7, surrounded by loved ones.

Eric was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend who dedicated many years of his life to helping others. Retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Covington, he spent his retirement years offering handyman services to those who needed them. Born of Catholic faith, he became an associate member of Wesley Ray United Methodist Church in Angie, LA, where he served as part of the United Methodist Men and Senior Sunday School.

A veteran of the United States Army, Eric will be remembered for the things he loved to do.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching football and boxing.

He was born on August 2, 1950 to James and Stella Cousin in Lacombe, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter Danielle Cousin.

Eric is survived by his wife, Thelma and two children:  Melinda Gee(James) and Andre' Cousin, his six brothers and sisters: John Cousin (Linda), Laura Dumas (Evren), Joseph Cousin(Caroline), Lorraine Bethune, Carolyn Warren (Harold) and Farrell Cousin (Gwen).  Brothers and sisters-in-love: Luther Martin (Donna), Steven Martin (Sheronda), Shirley Jackson (Julius), Brenda Robinson (Robert), and Tracy Martin.  Bonus grandkids: Jecal and Jalen Gee, as well as, Godchildren:  Sonja Dumas (Rodney), and Cardez (Tater Bug) Jackson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eric will be remembered for his fierce independence, strength, feistiness and love for his family.

Services will be at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana on February 13, 2021. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the Funeral at 11:00 AM.
