Robert Durl "Bob" Smith

February 7, 1930 - January 7, 2021

Robert Durl "Bob" Smith, age 90 and a resident of the Mt. Pisgah Community, died Thursday, January 7, 2021 at his residence.

He was a native and longtime resident of the Mt. Pisgah Community. He was an active member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. He was owner/operator of Thigpen Concrete and Smith Sand and Gravel. He enjoyed working with his beef cattle and was a dairyman early in life.

Survived by: Daughter: Connie Sue Smith; 2 Grandchildren and spouses: Vanessa Fisher Moran and Jason, Thomas Robert Fisher and Paula; 5 Great grandchildren; 3 Sisters and a brother in law: Grace Roberts, Edna Sprehe, Martha Miller and Douglas; Sisters in law: Vivian Smith, Delores Corkern; Brothers in law: Ralph Burch, J. Paul Alford; Numerous nieces and nephews and many friends

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Mary Ella “Toby” Alford Smith, an infant son Robert Derl Smith, Jr., his parents John and Flossie Rogers Smith, brothers and sisters in law Lewis Ray Smith and Inez, Ray A. Smith and Alice, Roland Smith, John R.”Doc” Smith, sisters and brothers in law Nellie P. Spears and Richard, Ruth I. Alford and Keith, and Rose Marie Burch.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home from 10 AM until 2 PM Tuesday, January 12, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. James Kemp and Rev. Scott Spinks officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers family prefers donations be made to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 25393 Mt. Pisgah Rd., Mt. Hermon, LA 70450.
