Myrtis Booty

September 19, 1929 - December 04, 2020

Myrtis Booty, a resident of Kentwood La. passed away on December 4, 2020 she was a devoted God fearing woman. An inspiration to all who knew her. She was known as “ momma, Sister Myrtis, mawmaw, Mimi, and even “old Mimi”. She loved her family and her friends. Even in her latest battles of life she was still singing and worshiping her maker. She will be missed by many. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Booty, her mother Lillie Mae Morgan Davis, her father Floyd Alvin Davis Sr, 4 sisters Maudie Shaffet, Mildred Jones, Gladys Davis, and Ruby Davis. 2 brothers Floyd Davis Jr, and Marvin Davis. 1 grandson Joseph Barker. 

She is survived by 1 brother James Davis, also 4 daughters, Sharon Rainey, Jeanette Barker, Darlene White ( Hank), Melinda Lillie ( Bo). 7 grandchildren Jimmy Davis, Tonya Johnson, Natasha White, Jonathan White, Trey Lillie, Tori Lillie, & Jeffrey Barker and their spouses. Great grandchildren, Lauren, Alyssa, Jaimee, Monica, Jimmy Ray, Tommy, Cassidy, Kaylee, Zaine, TJ, and Elijah. And several great great grandchildren. 

Momma finally heard the words she has longed to hear “WELL DONE MY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT." 

Visitation from 12:00PM until religious services at 1:00PM on Monday, December 7, 2020 at New Jerusalem United Pentacostal Church. Interment New Jerusalem Cemetery, Kentwood, LA.
