Tropical Disturbances Today

A broad area of low pressure over the central Caribbean Sea have increased and become better organized since yesterday.  Environmental conditions are conducive for additional development, and a tropical depression or tropical storm is likely to form later today or tonight while the system moves slowly westward.  Additional development of the system is likely over the weekend. Formation chance through 48 is at 90% and formation chance through 5 days is at 90%.

Post-Tropical Cyclone Eta looks to be "out of here" as it moves rapidly north-east into the Atlantic.

Tropical Storm Theta is no threat at this time to the United States. The forecast is for Theta to move east-southeast, then turn north, begin weakening through the weekend, and become a remnant low on Sunday.
