Johnnye Annell "Nell" West James
September 1, 1933 - November 30, 2020
Johnnye Annell "Nell" West James, and a resident of Franklinton died early Monday morning November 30, 2020 at her home. She was born in Monroe and raised in Columbia, LA where she graduated from Columbia High School. Nell later graduated with Honors from Louisiana Tech University. She then moved to Franklinton in 1960 where she worked for Dr. Gerald Foret and Riverside Medical Center for many years. Nell was a longtime active member of Centenary United Methodist Church, where she sang in the church choir. She loved traveling the world with her sister and had visited Europe, Asia and many other far away vacation destinations. Nell always enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.
Survived by: 3 Children and Spouses: Dr. Mark Lane James and Holly James of Franklinton, John Clayton James and Yanghee James of Montgomery, TX, Elizabeth James Leblanc of Mandeville; Grandchildren and Spouses: Mark James, II and Sara James, David James, Andrew and Krista James, Kate and Jeremy Henriques, Michelle and Russell Anderson, Robert James and fiancé Kera Aparicio; Great-grandchildren: Owen James, William James, Graham James, Karla James, Heather James, Mary James, Yana James, Clayton James, Avery James, Henry James, Jude James, Simone Clark; Sister: Lane West and her friend Patty Jo Childers of Lafayette; Best Friend: Mary Elizabeth Richardson
She was preceded in death by her parents Louie Lane West and Johnny Ray West and son in law Joseph Leblanc.
The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to her caregivers and friends for their loving support through the years Barbara Bickham, James Bickham, DeDe Hart, Jamie Bickham and to the staff of St. Tammany Hospice.
A memorial service for her family will be planned at a later date.
