Pattyce Donaldson Simpkins
March 3, 1940 - November 18, 2020
Pattyce Donaldson Simpkins, age 80 and a resident of Mount Hermon, went to her Heavenly Home Wednesday November 18, 2020 at her home. She was a native of Hodge, LA born March 3, 1940. Upon getting married as a young woman, she began a blessed life as a Pastor’s wife for 59 years. She worked in ministry alongside her husband at churches in Newellton, Farmerville, and Holden before moving to Mt. Hermon in 1967 to pastor Mt. Hermon Pentecostal Church. Pattyce played the accordion for many services early in their ministry and later wrote dramas and plays as part of special revival and worship services. Pattyce was a true caregiver at heart, as she served as a “nurse” for many friends, neighbors and others in her community. Though she had no formal training, she used God’s gifts to provide medical help to many people in need through the years, even life-saving measures during emergencies when needed. Pattyce loved to cook for her family and church family and she loved spending time with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
