Gregory Edward Varnado

August 11, 1959 - October 13, 2020

Gregory Edward Varnado, age 61 and a resident of the Stoney Point Community, died Tuesday morning October 13, 2020. He was a graduate of Valley Forge High School that later worked for many years as a carpenter and welder throughout the area. Ed, as he was known to his family and friends, enjoyed reading, drawing and painting. He liked to fish and spend time in the outdoors. Ed always loved listening to music, especially his favorite 80’s and 90’s rock, and he had been to countless concerts through the years.

Survived by: 2 Sons and a Daughter in law: Eric Varnado, Todd and Amanda Varnado all of Gonzales, LA; Grandchildren: Eric Varnado, Jr., Kassidy Varnado, Claire Varnado, Colette Varnado, Cortlin Varnado; Great-granddaughter: Nalani Varnado; Parents: James Varnado and Agnes Sharp Varnado of Stoney Point; 2 Sisters: Tammy Varnado, Lynette Varnado both of Stoney Point; Also numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton, LA) on Friday October 16th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Friday with Eld. Everett Broom officiating. Burial will follow in the Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
