Tropical Disturbances Today

Disturbance 1. An area of low pressure located just southwest of Bermuda is expected to slowly develop as it moves generally westward or west-northwestward. Formation chance through 48 hours is at 10% and formation chance through 5 days is at 30%. 

Disturbance 2. Tropical Storm Paulette is moving west-northwest at 3 mph and is expected to strengthen during the next couple of days. The stronger it gets, the farther north it will move. There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.

Disturbance 3. Tropical Depression Eighteen is almost a Tropical Storm and is forecast to pass near or over the Cabo Verde Islands later today and tonight. 

Disturbance 4. A tropical wave is forecast to emerge off the west coast of Africa in a few days. Gradual development is anticipated once the system moves over water and a tropical depression could form late this week or over the weekend while the system moves generally westward across the eastern Atlantic. Formation chance through 48 hours is at 0% and formation chance through 5 days is at 40%.
