Verdell Crain Brumfield

October 24, 1952 - September 24, 2020

Verdell Crain Brumfield, age 67 and a resident of Franklinton, died early Thursday morning September 24, 2020 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a longtime beautician that was always a very kind and sweet person. Verdell was a member of Lawrence Creek Missionary Baptist Church who liked to read her Bible. She enjoyed walking near her home every day and drinking coffee while relaxing on her porch visiting with her sister. Verdell liked to go check on things at the farm and she cherished the time spent with her family and adored her grandchildren.

Survived by: Husband of 31 years: Charles Brumfield of Franklinton; Daughter and Son in law: Vicki and Tom Comeaux of Franklinton; Son and Daughter in law: Mike and Cindy Ingram of Franklinton; 3 Grandchildren: Colby Comeaux, Claire Ingram, Grace Ingram; Sister: Luvenia Jenkins of Franklinton; Brothers and a Sister in law: John Crain, Lewell and Lamonica Crain all of Meadville, MS; Brothers in law and Sisters in law: Byron and Bronis Brumfield, Scott Brumfield, Alvin Ingram, Phyliss Crain all of Franklinton; Also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends

She was preceded in death by her parents Wilbur Crain and Rosetta Stafford Crain, first husband Douglas Ingram, sisters Virginia Baker, Rose Caves, Hazel Temples, infant sister Ruby Gale Crain, a brother Willie J. Crain, father in law and mother in law Jerry and Mavis Brumfield, brothers in law George Jenkins, Alfred Ingram.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday September 26th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Saturday with Eld. Lerand Hunt and Eld. Don Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in the Acy’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
