Last night (Monday, September 28, 2020), the Washington Parish Council approved a Resolution changing a number of the polling places (see below) for the November 3, 2020 and December 5, 2020 elections. Click on "Read More" below to read the full resolution.
The changes are a result of the Secretary of State's Emergency Election Plan, the public health proclamations of the State of Louisiana, and is at the request of the Washington Parish Clerk of Court. The changes provide for social distancing and other safety guidelines for the health and safety of polling commissioners and voters.

RESOLUTION CHANGING CERTAIN POLLING PLACES
FROM CURRENT LOCATIONS IN COMPLIANCE WITH
THE LOUISIANA SECRETARY OF STATE EMERGENCY ELECTION PLAN FOR THE NOVEMBER 3, 2020 AND
DECEMBER 5, 2020 ELECTIONS IN THE STATE OF LOUISIANA
WHEREAS, pursuant to La. R.S. 29:721, et seq. and La. R.S. 29:761, the Governor declared a public health emergency on March 11, 2020 by proclamation in response to the threat posed by COVID-19; and
WHEREAS, on April 16, 2020, the White House Task Force issued guidelines entitled, “Opening Up America Again”, providing guidelines to the states on re-opening various parts of the economy; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Proclamation Number 58 JBE 2020, the State of Louisiana moved into Phase 1 of recovery on Friday, May 15, 2020; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Proclamation Number 74 JBE 2020, the State of Louisiana moved into Phase 2 of recovery on Friday, June 4, 2020; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Proclamation Number 117 JBE 2020, the State of Louisiana moved into Phase 3 of recovery on Friday, September 11, 2020; and
WHEREAS, on August 17, 2020, the Louisiana Secretary of State issued the Emergency Election Plan for the November 3, 2020 and December 5, 2020 elections in the State of Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, in order to comply with the public health proclamations of the State of Louisiana and the Emergency Election Plan of the Louisiana Secretary of State in providing for the social distancing and other safety guidelines of the Emergency Election Plan for the safety of polling commissioners and voters; and
WHEREAS, La. R.S. 18:534 authorizes a Parish governing authority to change polling places; and the Washington Parish Clerk of Court has requested changes of polling places for the health and safety of polling commissioners and voters.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the polling places stated below are hereby changed to the new locations also stated below for the elections slated for November 3, 2020 and December 5, 2020, to-wit:
