Obituary

Eddie Johnson, Sr.
April 25, 1925 - July 23, 2020



Eddie Johnson, Sr., a resident of Bogalusa, LA was born to the late Rev.  Joseph Johnson, Sr. & the late Alma Jane Pittman Taylor Johnson.  His Spiritual transition was July 23, 2020 at Our Lady of Angels in Bogalusa, LA.

Deacon Johnson was a member of Tree of Life Baptist Church for over 70 years currently pastored by Rev. Loranzo Magee.

Preceded in death by his loving wife, Celestina; four sons, Andrew, Willie J. & Eddie Jr.; four brothers, Ernest Taylor, Rev. W.J., Joseph Jr., & Tom E. Johnson; four sisters, Viola Cole, Selena Wooley, Kathleen Henry & Hazel Steptoe.

He is  survived by five daughters,  Geraldine Davis (Jerone), Lee Bilberry, Beverly  Magee and Jeanette Johnson, all of Bogalusa, LA and  Barbara  Gatdula (Alfredo) of Jackson, MS ;  three sons,  Rev. John W., Sr. (Burnett) of Jonesboro, GA, Vial Rodney (Claudia) and Frederick, both of  Bogalusa, LA; one step- sister, Mary (Rev. M J Galloway) of Bogalusa, LA; one brother-in-Law,  Laureano Marañon of La Union, PHL;  one sister-in-law, Dalen Marañon of La Union, PHL; and a village of (family & friends) grand, great grand & great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and an endless number of loving Christian friends.

Special acknowledgements to  Christopher Russell, Richard Ard, Robert Cooper, Theresa Keller, J.J Creel, Connie & Elton Lacey, Peter Gard, Dr. Ogden, Dr. Campbell, Brandi Vince, Virgie Rodgers, Jackie & Carrie Fortenberry, Sarah Peterson, Valeria Aikens, Min. L. M. James, Our Lady of Angels ER Staff, caregivers: Crista Seal, John G, Beau, Ricky and Brittney  for their time, service and endless support doing  our father's illness.

Drive thru viewing will be Friday, July 31, 2020 from 2 p.m.-6. p.m.  Funeral service will be Saturday, August 1st at 11 a.m with Rev John W Johnson, Pastor Officiating.  Covid19 safety precautions will be practiced.

Crain & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
