Mertie Von Gerald Branch
June 17, 1937 - July 14, 2020



Mertie Von Gerald Branch, age 83 and a resident of Pine, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning July 14, 2020 at Our Lady of The Angels Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born June 17, 1937 and was a longtime member of Pine Missionary Baptist Church. Mertie Von was a dedicated, hard-working woman that even as a young lady took care of many of the needs of her family. She helped her husband on his tugboat and raised beef cows on their farm for many years. Mertie Von was a big sports fan and always loved watching her sons and grandchildren play. Later in life, she enjoyed traveling to all the games of her great-grandchildren. She was a strong, generous and loving mother, grandmother and friend.

Survived by: 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Ricky and Cindy Branch of Farmerville, LA, Reggie and Jenny Branch of Pine; 5 Grandchildren and Spouses: Angela and John Gullatt, Krissy Branch, Aaron and Meredith Branch, Jason and Amanda Branch, Justin and Jenna Branch; 13 Great-grandchildren: John Bailey, Kinsley Sarah Von, Brooks, Madison, Maddox, Mavrick, Caroline, Lily Marie, Camryn, Kane, Kade, Damien, Brinlee; Sister and Brother in law: Ravonda and Clayton Borras and their son Brandon; Sisters in law: Betty Branch, Vickie Creel

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday July 16th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Thursday with Rev. David Easterling and Eld. Richard Magee officiating. Burial will follow in the New Gerald Cemetery.

The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to Shelly and Brooke Thomas for the years of loving care they provided and to the staffs of Resthaven Living Center and Our Lady of The Angels Hospital for their support during these difficult times.
