Obituary

William Louis "Peter" Williams
December 06, 1940 - July 17, 2020



The end of this life, is the beginning of a new life, far better, far sweeter, without pain, sickness, sorrow, and most of all, no more death.

Bro. William Louis Williams was born December 6, 1940 to the late, David and Girtha Miller Williams. He was also known by family and friends as Peter or Peter Rabbit. On July 17, 2020 the angel of silence came into his room at St. Tammany Hospital in Covington, LA and carried his soul to an eternal rest.

Peter attended school at Vernon School. He was a long-time member at James Chapel COGIC under the leadership of Elder. Amele Quillen, Sr. and later in life joined the Plainview COCHUSA and remained a member until his death.

Everyone loved his infections smile. H enjoyed playing his gospel music and the “blues” in his residential home at the Good Samaritan Living Center.

He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Tayre (Shirley) Williams, Melody Magee both of Franklinton, LA; Peter (Stacy) of Abita, LA, Quincy Watson of Slidell, LA, Pamela Brumfield, Carol Williams, both of Mt. Hermon, LA; Essie Williams, mother of his children; four sisters, Alyee Reed of Fort Worth, TX, Lucille Bickham of Franklinton, LA, Betty Rodgers of Mt. Hermon, LA, and Dotsy Williams of Markam, IL; two brothers, Nonzie ( Lora) Williams of Franklinton, LA, and Jessie Williams of Progress, MS; a host of grand and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Girtha Williams; one brother, Joe Ray Williams; five sisters, Mary Lee Frances, Eldora Harris, Marie Paige, Tina Williams, and Velma Williams, and Donald Williams.

A Drive Through Viewing will be from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton, Louisiana. A Graveside Service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Plainview Church of Christ Holiness in Mt. Hermon, Louisiana.
