Ruby Hylon Magee Walley
January 15, 1949 - July 9, 2020



Ruby Hylon Magee Walley, age 71 and a resident of the Hackley Community, died Thursday July 9, 2020 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was a graduate of Thomas High School and a longtime resident of Byrum, Mississippi. Hylon had retired after a long career with the United States Postal Service and moved back to Hackley in 2011. She enjoyed fishing and shelling pecans each winter. Hylon loved spending time with her family and adored all the youngest ones, who affectionately called her “Heidi”. She loved taking care of her “sweet babies”, taking them fishing, or just riding with them on her golf cart.

Survived by: Sister: Sheree Magee and Michael M. Thomas of Hackley; 3 Brothers and Sisters in law: Robert and Debra Magee of Hackley, Walter Ray and Juanita Magee of Jonesville, LA, Calvin Lloyd and Joyce Magee of Hackley; Nephews and Nieces that were all raised as her brothers and sister: Roger Magee, Ray Graves, Lisa Miley; Special Nephew that was like her own son: Jared Magee; Special Nieces: Paris Magee, Alicia D’avy of Mississippi; Great-nephews and Great-nieces that were truly the Light of Her Life: Hayden, Kaitlyn, Anderson, Ella Grace; Also numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews that she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Walley, mother Vanda Rogers Magee, father Joel Robert Magee, sisters Betty Jo Magee, Genell Crews, Janice Faye Magee, Lorell Spears, brothers Louie Magee, Rueben Rogers.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday July 12th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 10:00 am on Monday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 pm on Monday with Rev. Leon Hickman and Eld. Duane Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the J. Magee Cemetery near her home.
