Bush Man Killed in Single Vehicle Crash

On Wednesday, July 22, 2020, after 5:00 am, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L
responded to a fatal crash on LA 41 north of LA 435 in St. Tammany Parish. The crash claimed the life of 37-year-old Jason R. Talley of Bush.

The initial investigation led Troopers to determine that Talley was southbound on LA 41 in a Ford F-150 pickup when he drove off the roadway. The pickup impacted a drainage culvert which caused it to begin to roll until it impacted a utility pole. Talley was properly restrained but died from injuries sustained during the crash. Impairment is not suspected as a factor in the crash, but as part of the ongoing investigation a blood sample was collected for scientific analysis from Talley.

This is the third fatal crash Troop L has investigated in the past three days. Louisiana State Troopers wish to remind motorists to make good, safe decisions such as never driving while impaired, always ensuring every occupant is properly restrained, obeying the speed limit, and avoiding all distractions. While not all crashes are survivable, statistics show that chances of surviving a crash rise significantly when properly restrained.
