James Earl Rollins, Sr.
November 25, 1953 - June 11, 2020



Elder James Earl Rollins, Sr. was born November 25, 1953 to the late Otis Rollins and Corleaner Rollins in Columbia, MS. Elder Rollins, Sr. was called home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2020 at 3:19 P.M. in Somerset, New Jersey.

Elder James Rollins, Sr. was the third child of 4 children, two preceded him in death(Lawrence Rollins-brother and a sister Bessie Watts).  Elder Rollins, Sr. graduated from Wesley Ray High School in 1972.  During his high school years, he was a exceptional athlete and loved animals.  Elder Rollins, Sr. was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist where he gave his life to GOD at an early age.

Elder James Rollins, Sr. was united in holy matrimony in April of 1976 to his late beautiful wife, Marie Conerly Rollins. Soon after, the beautiful couple relocated to New Brunswick, New Jersey where they joined and fellowshipped at Progressive COGIC under the leadership of Elder H. Burwell.

Elder Rollins, Sr. was employed at Rutgers University in New Jersey as a police officer, from April 1978 to his retirement in March of 2008 leaving behind 40 years of gainful employment.

Elder Rollins, Sr. leaves to cherish his memories, four children, Josh (Devetta) Rollins, James (Denise) Rollins, Jr., both of Baton Rough, LA Isaiah (Miquelito) Rollins James (Denise) of FREDRICKSBURG, Coleaner Rollins Childes of Somerset New Jersey, Thirteen grandchildren, Lavonne (Jay) O'Neal, Destiny, Vanessa, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Eveah, Andre, Andreah, Keyera, Jamal, Anthony, Sean, and a great grandchild; one sister Bertha Rollins Francis, a brother-in-law Marvin Francis, Sr. of Baton Rouge, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Elder James Rollins was preceded in death by his wife Marie Conerly Rollins, his parents; Otis and Corleaner Rollins; a brother, Lawrence Rollins and a sister; Bessie Rollins Watts.

Services will be at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Visitation will be on Friday, June 26, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM.
