Christopher Robin Sumrall
February 11, 1981 - May 1, 2020



Christopher Robin Sumrall, age 39 and a resident of Franklinton, died Friday afternoon May 1, 2020 at his home surrounded by his beloved family. He fought a courageous battle with cancer and will be missed by all that knew him. Chris was born on February 11, 1981 and was a 1999 graduate of Franklinton High School. He loved working with computers and was currently the Information Technology Supervisor for Smitty’s Supply, Inc. Chris attended Oak Grove Baptist Church and served for several years in the Louisiana Army National Guard. He enjoyed playing basketball and watching the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers Football. Chris also liked watching wrestling and working in the outdoors. He was a generous and helpful person that was always there for others in need.

Survived by: Wife: Shannon Sharpe Sumrall of Franklinton; 3 Children: Christopher J. Sumrall, Hunter J. Sumrall, Stacey S. Sumrall all of Franklinton; Parents: John L. Sumrall, Sr. and Drusilla W. Sumrall of Franklinton; 2 Brothers and Sisters in law: John L. Sumrall, Jr. and Amy Lynn Sumrall, Joseph Q. Sumrall and Ashley Sumrall all of Franklinton; Father in law: Dewitt Sharpe of Bogalusa; Brothers in law and Sisters in law: Scott and Krista Sharpe of Boglausa, Sharee and James Gibson of Virginia; Nieces and Nephews: Ashely, Christina, Isabella, Emily, Jake, Jolie, Tyler, Ethan, Jacob, Samantha; Uncles and Aunts: Donzil and Carole Sumrall, Allan Sumrall, Mary and Horace Degruy, Michael and Caroline Waguespack, Tommy and Tammy Waguespack; Also numerous cousins and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by grandparents John Q. and Georgia Sumrall, Hubert and Audrey Waguespack and mother in law Sharon Sharpe.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday May 3rd from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A graveside funeral service will be held in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at 1:00 pm on Friday May 8th with Rev. Karl Tingle and Rev. Derek Dantin officiating. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 24.
