Arnold Martin
December 14, 1930 - April 13, 2020



Arnold Everett Martin, age 89 and a resident of the Sunlight Community, died Monday morning April 13, 2020 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War, where he bravely served as a medic on the front lines. Arnold was a successful dairyman for many years and also operated a milk truck that allowed him to haul his own milk and also that of his neighbors and others. He was involved in the Washington Parish dairy industry for 45 years. Arnold was an active member of Sunlight Baptist Church, who dearly loved his Lord and church family.

Survived by: Wife of 65 years: Wilda Griffin Martin of the Sunlight Community; 2 Sons and a Daughter in law: Greg and Carol Martin of Franklinton, Mitchell W. Martin of Lafayette; 6 Grandchildren: Natasha Martin, Jared Martin and Amanda, Kaleb Martin, Trent Martin, Sydni Martin, Michelle Martin Russo; 6 Great-grandchildren; Sister: Pat Martin Kinsella of Covington; Sister in law: Annie Griffin of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Also numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by a son Russell Arnold Martin, parents C.J. Martin and Bertie Luper Martin, brother J.C. Martin, sisters Melva Sandifer, Nell Cannon, brother in law Andy Kinsella, sister in law Vernell G. Martin, brothers in law Earl Cannon and J.T. Sandifer.

A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held in the Sunlight Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 pm Wednesday April 15th with Rev. Milton Kliesch officiating.
