Casey Clark McVea
May 9, 1970 - April 19, 2020



Casey Clark McVea, age 49 and a resident of Cottonport, LA., died Sunday morning April 19, 2020 at the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. He was a 1988 graduate of Bowling Green School where he played on the Buccaneer football team that won a State Championship. Casey later graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1994 before attending the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport where he received his Medical Doctorate in 1999. He was currently serving as the Director of Medicine for the Raymond Laborde Correctional Center in Cottonport. Casey loved riding his four-wheel ATV and he was an avid New Orleans Saints fan.

Survived by: Father: Dr. Butch McVea of Franklinton; Sister and Brother in law: Janet McVea Williams and Stephen Williams of Houston, TX; 2 Brothers and a Sister in law: Dr. Chip McVea and Angela McVea of Franklinton, Jay McVea of Freeport, FL; 5 Nephews and a Spouse: Jacob McVea, Dr. Seth and Mary McVea, Jack Williams, Martin Williams, Scott Williams; Also numerous other family members, co-workers and many friends

He was preceded in death by his mother Jackie Orr McVea, maternal grandparents Jake and Beola Orr, paternal grandparents Conrad and Francis McVea, and an aunt Sybil Orr.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday April 22nd in the Pine Community Cemetery with Dr. Cody Warren and Richard Knight officiating.

Casey’s family would like to express their sincere and heartfelt thanks to the nurses and doctors at Rapides Regional Medical Center who became our hands and hearts to hold and comfort him these last three weeks. May God bless them and keep them safe in these trying days.
