Betty Jo Magee
December 6, 1942 - April 13, 2020



Betty Jo Magee, age 77 and a resident of the Hackley Community, died Monday afternoon April 13, 2020 at her home. She was a longtime employee of UPS working out of the Covington office. Betty was always proud of the fact that she was the first woman delivery driver to service our area, including her usual route of Livingston Parish. She enjoyed traveling with her sisters and joking around with her family. Betty was strong willed and had a good time telling you just how she felt. She was a member of Lawrence Creek Missionary Baptist church and will be missed by all those close to her.

Survived by: 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Roger Dale Magee and Jennifer Magee of Tylertown, MS, William Ray Graves and Kathy Graves of Hackley; Daughter and Son in law: Vanda Lisa Miley and Alan Miley of Varnado; 10 Grandchildren and Spouses: Andrew Magee, Lacey Magee, Brooklyn Magee, Allison Magee, Paris Magee, Ethan and Allison Graves, Stephen Graves, Adam Graves, Alex and May Miley, Michael and Brittney Miley; 8 Great-grandchildren: Jace, Olivia, Mattie, Riley, Griffin, Chantry, Jackson, Marlowe; 2 Sisters: Ruby Hylon Walley, Sheree Magee both of Hackley; 3 Brothers and Sisters in law: Robert and Debra Magee of Hackley, Walter Ray and Juanita Magee of Jonesville, LA, Calvin Lloyd and Joyce Magee of Hackley; Also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Joel Robert Magee, mother Vanda Rogers Magee, sisters Genell Crews, Janice Faye Magee, Lorell Spears, brothers Louie Magee, Rueben Rogers.

A graveside funeral service will be held in the J. Magee Family Cemetery near her home at 11:00 am Wednesday April 15th with Rev. Leon Hickman officiating.
