Obituary

Audrey Hickman
February 5, 1928 - March 13, 2020



Audrey Hickman, age 91 and a resident of Franklinton, died Friday afternoon March 13, 2020 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was a graduate of Enon High School and a longtime member of Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church. Audrey worked for several years at Rutter Rex and later drove a school bus for the Franklinton Schools for many years. She also worked at W.E. Walker’s Store and the old Bell’s Grocery. Audrey was once a seamstress that made clothing and other items for people and she enjoyed crocheting. She loved reading and traveling across the United States, even to Alaska and a trip to France. She was an excellent cook and loved cooking for her family.

Survived by: 2 Daughters and a Son in law: Iris Hickman, Debbie and Thomas Eckert all of Franklinton; 4 Sons and Daughters in law: Tommy and Frances Hickman, Michael and Harriett Hickman, Loyd Hickman, John and Melanie Hickman all of Franklinton; 12 Grandchildren and Spouses: Bradley Eckert, Christina and Randy Graham all of Franklinton, Tommy, Jr. and Celeste Hickman of Osyka, MS, Michelle and Perry Talley of Bogalusa, Rachel Polk of Franklinton, Michael and Jill Hickman of Meridian, MS, Amy and David Soignier of Monroe, Clint and Hanna Hickman of Mandeville, Richelle and David Johnson, Brian Hickman all of Louisville, KY, Shane and Jolene Hickman of Franklinton, Whitney and Shane Willbanks of Tuscumbia, AL; 27 Great-grandchildren; Sister in law: Eunice Hickman of Franklinton; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

She was preceded in death by her husband Johnny L. Hickman, parents Thomas James Bell and Sallie Williams Bell, sisters Minnie D. Bell, Alma Bell Blount, Velma Bell Odom, brothers Walter Bell, Tom “Buster” Bell, Denman Bell, Roy Bell, Willie Bell.

Visitation will be at Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church (18018 Lee Road, Franklinton) on Tuesday March 17th from 9:00 until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the church at 11:00 am Tuesday with Rev. Leon Hickman and Rev. Brian Bates officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickman Family Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her 6 grandsons

Honorary Pallbearers will be her 6 granddaughters along with Elmer Gedney and Randy Bell.
