Obituary

Brian Long
June 30, 1969 - March 9, 2020



Brian Bruce Long, age 50 and a resident of Tangipahoa died Monday morning March 9, 2020 at his home. He was a former resident of Franklinton that worked in the oil industry on several different rigs through the years and later worked in fencing construction. His favorite hobby was riding his 2013 Black Harley-Davidson Softail motorcycle, which he called “Black Beauty”. Brian enjoyed deer hunting, being in the outdoors, Bar-B-Que’ing and visiting with his family and friends. He liked watching NASCAR and was a big fan of Jeff Gordon then Chase Elliot and was also an LSU Tigers fan. Brian drove floats in the MCCA Mardi Gras parade in Bogalusa each year and was involved each Christmas in the Santa’s Fire Helpers gift-giving program for less fortunate children. Brian loved playing with his dog Harley Girl Davidson.

Survived by: 3 Sons: Brian Long, Jr. of Tangipahoa and his mother Tina Carney, Josh Long of Tangipahoa, Cody Springer of Mt. Hermon; Daughter: Madison Long of Mt. Hermon; Brother and Sister in law: Donald and Jan Long of Franklinton; Former Wife: Dawn Springer Long of Mt. Hermon; Former Fiance’: Loretta Foster of Gulfport, MS; Special Friends: Clell Shaw and Basil Bean

He was preceded in death by his parents Jim Webb Long and Bernice Ballard Long, grandparents Early and Lena Ballard.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Wednesday March 11th from 4:30 pm until 7:30 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 7:30 pm Wednesday with Rev. Darryl Miller officiating.
