Sylvia Ann Ankesheiln Roach
July 19, 1949 - March 1, 2020



Sylvia Ann Ankesheiln Roach, age 70 and a resident of the Sunlight Community, died Sunday morning March 1, 2020 at her home. She was a native of New Orleans that had lived in Washington Parish for the last 20 years. Sylvia was a former deputy with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s office for many years and worked with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office for a couple years. She was always proud of her involvement in law enforcement and the good service she provided the community and those in need. Since moving to Franklinton, Sylvia worked alongside her husband in their business AA-JS Plumbing. She was an animal lover and had a special place in her heart for her pet Dachshund Olivia.

Survived by: Husband: James Roach of the Sunlight Community; Daughter and Son in law: Lena Robino-Martin and Patrick Martin of Jefferson; Step-son: James Roach Galgoure of Metairie; 3 Grandsons and a Spouse: Anthony Robino-Martin and wife Ari, Patrick Martin, Richard Martin; Brother and Sister in law: Arthur, Jr. and Cynthia Ankesheiln of Mandeville; Also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

She was preceded in death by her daughter Melissa Robino, infant daughter Rhonda Robino, and her parents Arthur Ankesheiln, Sr. and Mary Eckert Ankesheiln.

A memorial service for family and friends is planned for Saturday March 14th at Sunlight Baptist Church (18184 Sunlight Road, Franklinton, LA 70438). Service times will be updated as soon as they become available.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the St. Francis Animal Sanctuary (97 Obed Magee Road, Tylertown, MS 39667).
