Obituary

Marcelle Hanemann
November 25, 1955 - March 8, 2020

“We are all of us just walking each other home.”  This was a favorite quote of Marcelle Hanemann, radiant mother, radiant wife, radiant friend.  She was born to this earth November 25, 1955 at Fort Lewis in Washington state.  She was born once again into the light of heaven and unfettered spirit and love at dawn on March 8, 2020 while birds sang outside her open window at Harbor Hospice in Lake Charles, LA.

Her homecoming is no doubt being celebrated in rapturous joy by her husband Danny Hanemann who went ahead of her to prepare a home in heaven in August of 2018.

Marcelle has been newly appointed to the position of guardian angel to watch over her daughter, Brook Hanemann, her granddaughters, Isabella Swire and Sophia Hanemann Webb, her twin sister, Michelle Clark, and baby sister, Maria Thompson, their parents, Joe and Judy Clark, as well as an army of loving friends and family members.

Marcelle’s legacy includes the distinction of being one of the most radiant, celebratory, loving and selfless souls imaginable as well as being a deeply talented writer who spread love and healing and positivity through her decades of newspaper reporting and her mindful and beautiful children’s books.  Her main profession though, was and still is to love.
