Driver Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on I-12 Near Lacombe

On Friday, March 13, 2020 shortly before 4:30 PM, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L

responded to a single-vehicle, fatal crash on Interstate 12 East near LA 434 in St. Tammany Parish. The crash has claimed the life of 20-year-old Terrance J. Leblanc of New Orleans.

The initial investigation led Troopers to determine that the crash occurred as a Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Leblanc, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 12 in the left lane. For reasons still under investigation, Leblanc’s vehicle traveled off the roadway and impacted a tree. Leblanc was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, received fatal injuries, and was pronounced deceased on the crash scene. The passenger sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

At this time, speed is a contributing factor in the crash, and impairment is not suspected.
