Bogalusa Council Discusses Animal Shelter and Trash Container Issues

The Bogalusa Council met Tuesday evening (March 3, 2020), devoting most of the hour-long meeting to hearing and discussing animal shelter issues (beginning at 3:40 into video of the meeting) and issues about curb-side trash containers (beginning at 25:50 into video of the meeting). Councilman Drummond volunteered to serve as a liason with the Magnolia Animal Humane Society to address the issues regarding the animal shelter. Following a Public Hearing and extended discussions, the ordinance addressing the curb-side containers was tabled.

In other business, the Council heard a report from the Fire Chief. They also heard a report from Mayor Perrette (beginning at 46:25 into video of the meeting) that included reminders of upcoming events on March 14th (the basketball tournament and the St. Paddy's Dog Parade). The mayor also spoke on litter abatement, efforts to educate youth on litter abatement, and the Clean City Contest.

Following Council Discussions, the meeting was adjourned. The next scheduled meeting is March 17, 2020 at 5:30 PM.
