Town Hall Focus on Bogue Chitto State Park Improvements

Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser and Senator Beth Mizell will host a town hall meeting to discuss upcoming and proposed improvements to Bogue Chitto State Park. The public is invited to attend the meeting on Tuesday, March 3, at 6 p.m. in the park’s meeting room.
The goal is to obtain public input from the community on what amenities and facilities would provide a better visitor experience at the park. Funding for such improvements has been made available through the signing of Act 196 the 2019 Regular Legislative Session.

Bogue Chitto State Park is located off LA Hwy. 25 in Washington Parish, approximately 8 miles south of Franklinton. Visitors to the park can experience a diversity of natural habitats on one of the most dynamic and scenic river systems in Louisiana. The 1,786-acre site includes small streams, cypress tupelo swamps, a hardwood-forested gorge and upland forests.

For anyone unable to attend the meeting, your comments and input can be submitted to billy@crt.la.gov.
