Obituary

Curtis Spikes, Jr.
September 20, 1946 - January 31, 2020



Curtis Spikes, Jr., age 73, died at home Friday, January, 31, 2020. He was the oldest male of 8 siblings.

Curtis was born September 20, 1946, in Bogalusa, Louisiana to the late Curtis Spikes, Sr. and Willie Mae Spikes. Curtis Jr. worked all his life for the formerly known Crown Zellerbach/ Gaylord paper mill until he retired in the early 2000s.

He was preceeded in death by his sister, Robert Spikes Cummings.

Survivors include sisters; Minnie Elliot of Englewood, Charleen Barnes, Lake Elsinore, CA, Gwendolyn Wilson, Abita Springs; brothers, William Spikes, Los Angeles, CA, Charles Spikes, Bogalusa, LA, and Carl Spikes, Baton Rouge, LA; sons, Germaine Johnson, Darin Fields both of Bogalusa, LA and Jarrod (Krystal) Cook Hammond, LA;  daughters, Lisa Spikes, Frenchie Taylor, New Orleans, LA, and LaTorya Fields, Bogalusa, LA. He also was survived by 18 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a host of sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 1:00pm at Crain and Sons Funeral Home, 809 East Third Street Bogalusa, LA 70427.

Crain and Sons Funeral Home – Bogalusa are in charge of arrangements.
