“Education is so important, “states Edwards. “The LSA Scholarship Program demonstrates the level of commitment we have for the students of Louisiana.” Each year Sheriff Edwards matches the LSA’s Scholarship Award. This means that a scholarship of $500 will be awarded to (2) two graduating high school students in Tangipahoa Parish.
There are no restrictions on the purposes for which the scholarship may be spent. The scholarship will be awarded as a gift to the recipients to defray the rising costs of tuition and related expenses in higher education. The only stipulations are as follows:
• The applicants are permanent residents of Louisiana.
• The scholarship must be utilized in higher education within the state of Louisiana. Technical colleges are included.
• The student must be enrolled as a full time, undergraduate student and applicants must be eligible for admission to the school indicated on the application.
Applications can be accessed on line from our website, www.tpso.org or at http://www.lsa.org/public/scholarship.aspx. Completed applications must be submitted to our office by the close of business (4:00 pm) on Monday, April 1, 2020. Applications may be dropped in person or mailed to 15475 W. Club Deluxe Rd. Hammond, LA 70403, attention to the Public Information Office or emailed to PIO@tpso.org.
The scholarship recipient will be announced on Wednesday May 1st, 2020.
