Joseph H. "Toby" Jones
January 5, 1931 - January 28, 2020



Joseph Hardie "Toby" Jones, age 89 and a resident of the Springhill Community, died Tuesday afternoon January 28, 2020 at Riverside Medical Center. He was a data processor in the oil production business and had retired after a 28 year career with Gulf Oil. Toby was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War era during which time he served as an electrician. He loved working in his garden and riding his tractor around his property. Toby liked watching old Western TV shows and movies and his favorite character was Festus Haggen of Gunsmoke. He was a longtime member of Springhill Baptist Church.

Survived by: Son: Robert Jones of Huntington Beach, CA; 23 Nieces and Nephews; Numerous 1st and 2nd cousins and other family members.

Toby was the last of 9 brothers and sister that preceded him in death, Thurston Murphy, John L. Jones, Shawnee, Murphy, James D. Jones, Vivian O. Herald, Violet Sharp, Evelyn Sharp, Bessie Lou Williamson along with his parents James Dewitt Jones and Corrine McNeese Jones.

A service for family and friends will be planned at a later date.
