Obituary

Jacqueline M Martin
May 23, 1954 - January 22, 2020



Sister Jacqueline Magee Martin was born May 23, 1954 to the late Mr. Ollie and Mrs. Antronette Magee. She was the sixth child of fourteen. She passed away on January 22, 2020 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, LA.

Jackie united with Magee’s Temple C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of her grandfather, Superintendent Monroe Magee and the now presiding Pastor Cecealine Tate. She was married to Donald Ray Martin, Sr.  To this union five children were born.  One preceded her in death.

Sister Jackie was over the kitchen committee for 3 years, were she was faithful in her duties. She was a quiet person and an encourager to her children and grandchildren. Jackie was faithful until her health began to fail her.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 44 years  Donald R. Martin, Sr.; two daughters, Biani (Kelvin) Ginn and  Jessica Martin; two sons, Donald (Justine) Martin, Jr., and Michael (LaShon) Martin, Sr.; four brothers, Hamilton (JoAnn) Magee, Daria Magee, Frank  (Dueoan) Magee all of Franklinton, LA  and Brian (Deanna) Magee of Folsom, LA; twenty grandchildren, DeMontez Martin, Adrian Magee, Nicholas Burkhalter, Michael Martin, Jr. Deja Martin, Oliva Martin, Zaquacius Martin, Kevin Ginn, Baylee Ginn, Akerria Roberts, Ja’Zarion Jefferson, Jy’Rhiunna Jefferson, Jy’Rhianna Jefferson, Zykeria Martin, Raykesia Martin, Cameron Lewis, Donald Martin III, Zameria Martin, Rylan Martin, David May; one great grandchild, Xia Rae Martin;  eight  sisters, Katherine (Lloyd) Pickett of Carson, CA; Sarah (Cladis) Silvie; Paulette Magee, Pamela (DeVance) Williams and Marie (Marcus) Ford all of Long Beach, CA, and Consue Henderson of San Diego, CA, Anita Brumfield, and Sandra Ratliff both of Franklinton, LA; six sisters-in-law, Cynthia August, Alice Magee, Gloria Hart, Edna Magee all of Franklinton, LA; Sarah Nichols of Angie, LA, Mary Francis Wiggins of Baton Rouge, LA; three aunts, Pearlin Sims, Geraldine Alford, and Mary Causey; 2 uncles, Larry Harvey, and Harvell Harry; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Antronette Magee; her daughter, Maddox Lee Martin; 3 brothers, Ollie Magee, Sr., Truman Magee and Barry Magee; mother and father-in-law, KT and Elvie Martin, grandparents; Pearlie and Mattie Harvey, Superintendent Monroe and Pearlie Magee and Ora Magee.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  at Crain and Sons Funeral Home and family hour from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Magee’s Temple COGIC, 703 14th Avenue, Franklinton, LA  70438 at 12:00 p.m. Interment – Bethel Cemetery.

Crain and Sons Funeral Home - Franklinton in charge of arrangements.
