Dorothy Mae Thomas
October 24, 1924 - January 29, 2020



Mrs. Dorothy Mae Thomas, passed away, Wednesday, January 29, 2020, the age of 95, at Resthaven Living Center, Bogalusa, LA. Dorothy was a native and life long resident of Bogalusa, LA. She was a member of First Pentecostal Church, Bogalusa, LA. Mrs. Dorothy loved taking her family to church every Sunday, where she enjoyed singing in that special alto voice. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She will be greatly missed by all whose life she touched.

Mrs. Dorothy is survived by two sons Bruce Herring and his wife Peggy of Bossier City, LA., and Rodney Thomas, Sr. and his wife Dixie of Franklinton, LA. And one sister Louise Byrd of Baton Rouge, LA. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other friends and family members.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of fifty six years Edgar Thomas. Her parents Mr. and Mrs. Seaborn and Maybell Hyde. One son David Lee Herring. Five brothers Lee Hyde, SC Hyde, Paul Hyde, Sheldon Hyde and JV Hyde. And two sisters Ollie Dolan and Juanita Rogers.

Visitation will be February 1, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa. The Service will be held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on February 2, 2020 at 1:00 PM. Rev. Wesley Quave will be officiating. Interment will be at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Bogalusa.
