Devon Taylor
June 17, 1936 - January 23, 2020



Devon Taylor, age 83 and a resident of Franklinton, died Thursday January 23, 2020 at his daughter’s home in Bossier City, LA after a lengthy illness. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served as a fireman. Devon worked for many years at Dairymen, Inc. and later worked for many years with the Town of Franklinton. He enjoyed playing the guitar and working in his garden. Devon was a longtime member of Acy’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

Survived by: 2 Daughters and a Son in law: Nicole T. and Travis Jones of Bossier City, Cindy Russell of Franklinton; Grandchildren: Katherine Irene Boyd, Walter Lee Boyd, Adam Chance Boyd, Daniel Taylor Boyd, Sydney Nicole Jones, Rhiannon Russell, William Jewel Russell; 3 Great-grandchildren; 2 Brothers: Benton Taylor of Bogalusa, Ray Taylor of Franklinton; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

He was preceded in death by his first wife Evelyn Martin Taylor, daughter Brenda Gail Taylor, second wife Fayola Cotton Taylor, brothers, Frank Taylor, Andrew Taylor, Eddie Taylor and sisters Nora Graves, Alma Thomas, Viola Peevy, Mamie Cooper, Lettie Foil.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday January 26th from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Monday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Monday with Eld. Duane Ball and Eld. Donnie Broom officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery.
