Edward John Anderson, age 88 and a resident of Franklinton, died Friday evening January 10, 2020 at his home. He was retired as the maintenance superintendent for the Southeast Louisiana Hospital after a 30 year career. Ed was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War that saw active combat duty during his service. He was a member of the Washington Parish Chapter of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association. Ed enjoyed gardening, tending to his beef cows and bee hive and baling hay for himself or helping his neighbors. He was always a great story teller and would consider himself just an “Ole Cowboy”. Ed was a member of the Fellowship Community Church in Tickfaw, LA.
Survived by: Wife of 40 years: Shirley Dianne Sharp Anderson of Franklinton; 5 Children and Spouses: Teresa and Kenny Holden of Covington, Virginia Anderson of Ellisville, MS, Joseph and Virginia Sharp of Wiggins, MS, Tim and Laura Harvey of Denham Springs, Bill and Laurie Harvey of Gilford, MT; 14 Grandchildren; 13 Great-grandchildren; 2 Brothers and a Sister in law: Thomas Anderson, Steve and Mary Anderson all of Abita Springs; Also numerous nieces, nephews, brothers in law and sisters in law.
He was preceded in death by a grandson Gavin Lucas Harvey, father Edward A. “Bud” Anderson, mother and step-father Lillie King Anderson Tisdale and Maurice Tisdale, sister in law Chloe Anderson.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday January 18th from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Saturday with Pastor Michael Horchak officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Magee Cemetery Annex in Enon.
